Arrowhead Ranch WRF Improvements

The City of Glendale selected MGC as the CMAR to replace the existing headworks building, bar screens, washer compactors, and splitter box. Additional facility improvements included grit chamber rehabilitation, odor control system replacements, a new cloth disk filter system, and plant-wide electrical upgrades including full redundancy throughout the plant. The 9.0 MGD peak flows were successfully controlled by implementation of 30 separate MOPOs. The design phase consisted of MOPO development, cost estimating, constructability reviews, scheduling, long-lead material procurement, subcontractor selection, and value engineering. Cost comparison of permanent piping versus bypass pumping saved the owner several hundred thousand dollars. We coordinated with the design engineer and our electrical consultant, MGC completely modified the plants emergency power to a more reliable system and saved the owner five hundred thousand dollars.
