Martinez IV WWTP & Collection System

As part of the design-build team, MGC constructed a new 50,000-GPD WWTP (with a future capacity of 2.0-MGD) and wastewater collection system. Facilities included automatic screens, a mechanical rotating fixed film biotreatment basin, a 50-foot clarifier, UV disinfection and two 30-cubic-yard sludge dewatering boxes. The sewer collection system included more than 7,000 feet of gravity main ranging from 10- to 15-inches in diameter, along with a 2.25-MGD triplex lift station and 8,600 LF of dual 6- and 8-inch force main with multiple low-water crossings. The project was recognized as the first wastewater plant in Texas to be given a rating by the Institute of Sustainable Infrastructure under the Envision program, receiving a Silver Award.
